This auction is for a 7-1/2′ 5wt. rod. The three sections measure 30 -1/2″ and come with two tips and all new components excepting the ferrules which are original. – An uplocking high quality reelseat in dark gunsmoke……… Amboyna spacer…….. New super fine 7″ reverse half wells cork grip…….. Vintage agateen stripper guide……….New black 304 stainless steel line guides and tip tops……. small Fuji folding hook keeper…….Reelseat cap is engraved with a Mayfly I purchase the reelseat blanks in the raw state and they are machined for a custom fit to the reelseat hardware and to the bamboo. Also included with each rod is a set of bamboo ferrule plugs machined for a nice fit. The rod was tested with a double taper 5wt. Cortland sylk line at the recommended 30 foot range to determine the rods correct line weight. It loads up nicely for short casts and will cast a long line with ease . This rod was rebuilt from a quality American built South Bend #359 bamboo rod. It’s a medium caramel colored bamboo with factory flaming and is in sound condition and straight. The wraps on this rod are done in traditional South Bend black and orange thread with a light accent of rust red at the ferrules and hook keeper. The tipping is done with black thread. The signature wrap is also done in black Included in this auction is a custom fitted Leonard/Orvis style bag in khaki tan with a genuine leather hang tab and a black powder coated aluminum tube with solid brass screw cap and solid brass bottom fitted to the rod length. A Mayfly is also engraved on the tube cap. If you prefer a different style or color bag than shown it will be available at no additional cost.
