Bamboo Fly Rod Blank– 7′ 0″ — 2/2 — 4-5wt. — New — Phy Princess

This is a copy of the lighter version of a Paul Young Princess cane flyrod blank, 2-piece with 2 tips for 4-5-Weight. There are two differing tapers in the archives for the Princess. One is a 4-5 weight; the other a 5-6 weight. (You can find the two tapers at canerod.com and hexrod.net.) This is one of the lesser known Young tapers, and an excellent alternative for someone wanting a rod which is beefier than the usual 4-weight seven-footers out there. The blank is made from a darkly flamed culm, flamed slowly and then split, beveled and heat treated to create a brisk action rod which is resistant to taking a set. I like the dark flaming with golden nodes. Comes with a new custom-sewn rod bag. Tip-tops are installed. This 2/2 blank will require a full set of 13/64ths ferrules.
